Investigative Support for Litigated Claims

Support may include:

  • Surveillance and activity verification
  • Background research
  • OSINT and SOCMINT
  • Scene investigations
  • Witness location and interviews
  • Recorded statements
  • Verification of addresses, businesses and other information
  • Follow-up field enquiries
  • Review and organization of investigative findings
  • Other factual investigation requested by the client or legal representative

The investigative scope is based on the issues requiring further investigation.

Witness Location and Interviews

Exero Claims can assist with locating or recontacting witnesses and conducting interviews concerning matters relevant to the claim.

Recorded statements can be obtained when requested and appropriate to the assignment.

Surveillance and Activity Verification

Surveillance can document publicly observable activity relevant to a litigated claim.

The client receives a factual report and supporting photographs or video where obtained.

Scene and Follow-Up Investigation

Where additional fieldwork is required, an investigator can attend a relevant location, document current conditions, identify potential witnesses and conduct authorized follow-up enquiries.

Background and Open-Source Research

Background, public-record and open-source research can assist with verifying information and developing additional facts relevant to the litigation.

Investigator Testimony

Where appropriate, an investigator who conducted work on a case may be available to provide factual testimony concerning the investigation performed, observations made and reporting prepared.

The investigator's role is limited to matters within the investigator's personal knowledge and the work conducted.

Exero Claims does not represent its investigators as court-appointed experts or expert witnesses unless a particular individual has the required formal status for the matter concerned.

Working With Legal Representatives

When authorized by the instructing client, Exero Claims can coordinate investigative activity with the client's legal representative.

This may include addressing specific factual questions, conducting follow-up investigation and providing relevant investigative material.

Reporting

Reports distinguish investigator observations from witness information, third-party information and research findings.

Photographs, video and other supporting material are included where obtained during the authorized investigation.

Investigation reports and supporting documentation are prepared to support insurance claims, civil proceedings and related litigation where appropriate.

The admissibility and evidentiary weight of particular evidence are determined by the applicable court or authority.
