Sick Leave Compliance
Exero Claims conducts sick leave compliance and home visits throughout the Czech Republic for employers, insurers, TPAs, self-insured organizations and public-sector organizations.
The service provides an independent record of a field visit during a period of sick leave or medically related absence.
Sick Leave Home Visits
An investigator can attend the employee's reported residence according to the requirements of the assignment.
The visit may include:
- Confirmation of presence
- Identity verification
- Information required by the client's process
- Information concerning permitted periods away from the residence where relevant
- Other facts authorized by the client
Permitted Time Away From the Residence
Where the assignment involves specified periods during which the employee may be away from the residence, that information can be considered when conducting and reporting the visit.
Authorized reasons or periods away from the residence may be relevant to the circumstances.
An unsuccessful contact is not automatically treated by Exero Claims as a breach of sick leave requirements.
Information and Observations
The report distinguishes between:
- Information provided by the employee
- Information provided by another person
- Investigator observations
The investigator documents what occurred during the visit without making medical conclusions.
If Nobody Is Home
If contact cannot be made, the investigator documents the time and circumstances of the unsuccessful visit.
The instructing client determines whether further action is required.
Additional visits can be conducted when instructed.
Individual and Recurring Assignments
Sick leave compliance visits can be conducted as individual assignments or as part of an ongoing program.
Recurring programs may be useful for self-insured employers and public-sector organizations managing employee absence matters.
Additional Investigation
Where authorized, a sick leave matter may also involve:
- Surveillance and activity verification
- OSINT or other open-source research
- Background investigation
- Workplace injury investigation
- Additional compliance visits
Reporting
The client receives a factual report of the visit and information developed.
Exero Claims does not determine medical fitness, employment status, benefit entitlement or whether disciplinary action should be taken.
Those decisions remain with the instructing organization and its appropriate professional advisers.
Data Protection and Privacy
Sick leave compliance assignments are conducted for an identified purpose and with regard to applicable Czech and EU privacy and data protection requirements.
